Film-Ready Locations
at Chateau de Balsac
Features and Attributes for Location Rental

Aesthetic & Atmosphere
The chateau is made up of architectural elements and styles of every period from the 14th Century. The southern façade and interior are predominantly Renaissance.
A donjon (castle keep) tower that once served as a guard-watch tower with corbels dates from the 14th Century. The donjon includes a wine cellar on its ground floor, and a narrow stone stairway rising four floors to an attic that leads to a balcony with a 270 degree view facing primarily south over the countryside. There are medieval niches and old stone sinks in the upper floors.
The southern wing of the building was constructed in the 1570s in the Renaissance style. The rooms each have a distinct look, including libraries with old books, spacious guest rooms with exposed stone, and large fireplaces.
Furniture and other decorative items from several centuries are present in various parts of the building.
Accessibility
The chateau is located 7 minutes from the Rodez airport, which has two flights daily from Paris Orly. We can arrange to provide transportation from the airport and to sites in Aveyron.
Close to the chateau there is parking in the village, and trucks may easily approach the chateau gates for loading.

Control Over the Environment
There are seldom outside noises and in general the site is very quiet and private. The complex is surrounded by a wall, and is surrounded by fields. Neighbor houses in the villages are for the most part not visible from the chateau park. The village itself is like a dormitory in that there are no services, therefore very few people.
